Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-05-12 · v1.0
Short on purpose. If you sign in and use the Waving Cat apps under project-you.app, you're agreeing to these.
Who runs this
Waving Cat Learning Systems. I'm Andy Grossberg, based in Portland, Oregon, USA.
Contact: andy@project-you.app.
What you can do
- Sign in (Google, GitHub, email/password, magic link)
- Build cartridges in your browser — files stay on your machine during build
- Upload cartridges to the public sandbox or your private library
- Search across mounted cartridges
- Save searches and bookmarks (when those features ship)
What you can't do
- Upload illegal content
- Upload other people's copyrighted material without permission
- Try to exploit the service to crash it, steal data, or interfere with other users
- Scrape Waving Cat data for redistribution without asking me first
- Sign up if you're under 16
Your stuff vs. my stuff
- Your carts and their contents are yours. Always. You can export them, delete them, take them elsewhere.
- The Waving Cat code that runs the service is mine (or, more precisely, my company's, plus open-source components under their own licenses).
- You grant me a limited license to host and process your carts so the service can actually do its job — search them, return results to you. No other use.
Service availability
I'll try to keep this online and responsive, but:
- It's "best effort." There's no SLA.
- If it's down, I'm probably already working on it.
- I might do maintenance windows on weekends with little or no notice.
- If usage spikes past what my hosting budget allows, I may have to take it offline. If that happens I'll email signed-in users to let them know.
Termination
- You can close your account any time by emailing me. I'll delete your data within 30 days.
- I can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms — with reasonable notice unless the violation is severe (illegal content, attempted exploits, etc.).
- If I shut the whole service down, I'll email signed-in users with at least 30 days' notice so you can export your data.
As-is, no warranty
The service is provided "as-is." If you depend on it for something critical, that's your call. I'm building this with care but I can't promise it won't break.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, my total liability for any claim related to the service is capped at the greater of $50 or what you've paid for the service in the prior 12 months. Right now, the service is free — but if a paid tier launches, this clause is what governs.
Governing law
Oregon, USA. Any disputes go to the state or federal courts in Clackamas County, Oregon.
Changes
If I change these terms in a meaningful way, you'll see a banner asking you to re-accept the next time you sign in.
